Sharjah: The UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) has formed a new advisory board made up of talented Emirati women. This announcement was made during the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival 2025. The goal is to give women a bigger role in creating and leading projects that help children read and learn.
The new board includes artists, writers, publishers, and storytelling experts. Members like Aysha Al Hamrani, Israa Al Mulla, Amna Al Mazmi, Fatma AlKhatib, Moza Al Rand, and Noura Al Khoury are all well-known for their work in children’s books and education.
Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, founder of UAEBBY, said this step shows how much the organization believes in supporting Emirati women and promoting reading in the UAE and beyond. Marwa Al Aqroubi, UAEBBY President, said the board will help create fun and creative reading programs for children and will work with authors and illustrators to make new and exciting books.
The UAEBBY wants to help children love reading, think creatively, and enjoy learning through books, stories, and art. It also plans to work closely with schools, libraries, and publishers to build a strong reading culture in the country.
