UAE Supplied Most of Japan’s Oil in March 2025

TOKYO: In March 2025, the UAE sent 32.48 million barrels of oil to Japan, covering 41.4% of Japan’s total oil imports, the highest among all countries.
Japan imported 78.39 million barrels of oil in total, and 96.9% came from Arab countries, showing how important the Middle East is to Japan’s energy supply.
Other top suppliers:
- Saudi Arabia: 30.93 million barrels (38.4%)
- Kuwait: 5.23 million barrels (6.7%)
- Qatar: 3.32 million barrels (5.0%)
- Oman: 2.49 million barrels (3.2%)
Small amounts came from the US, Ecuador, Oceania, and Southeast Asia.
