UAE Students Create Innovative Solution to Protect People from Scams
In a bid to enhance accessibility and prevent scams for people of determination (PoD), students from 42 Abu Dhabi have developed cutting-edge technologies as part of the InnovateX Hackathon.
Among the standout projects is an AI-powered voice assistant designed to navigate websites, fill forms, and complete services using locally accented speech. This innovation aims to improve the accessibility of the Ministry of Interior’s official site for PoD.
Tackling Scams and Enhancing Accessibility
The winning team, Infosec Hero, not only introduced the AI voice assistant but also created Scam Shield, a gamification feature aimed at educating users on scam recognition and prevention. Additionally, they developed an interactive accessibility map to help users plan visits effectively.
For Abdullah Alhammadi, part of Infosec Hero, the hackathon was an opportunity to make a real difference. His team’s projects not only address real-world challenges but also strengthen their commitment to driving positive social change through technology.
Empowering Inclusivity
Ahmed Salem, another member of Infosec Hero, emphasized the importance of inclusive design in enhancing accessibility features. The collaboration between 42 Abu Dhabi and the Ministry of Interior provided the necessary support to innovate and develop advanced digital solutions.
Marcos Muller Habig, acting CEO of 42 Abu Dhabi, highlighted the school’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of digital innovation. By fostering inclusivity and accessibility, the hackathon aimed to create a more inclusive future where technology empowers every individual in the UAE.
Through their innovative projects, these students have demonstrated the transformative power of technology in enhancing accessibility and empowering people of determination in the UAE and beyond.
