The national campaign “UAE Stands with Lebanon” has collected 250 tonnes of relief aid at Expo Centre Sharjah. Over 3,000 volunteers from all over the UAE took part, showing strong community support for Lebanon during its time of need.

Campaign Backed by UAE Leaders

The campaign was launched under the direction of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is part of a larger national effort to help Lebanon recover. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, has been following the campaign closely. It is also supervised by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs.

The event at Sharjah Expo was organized by The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) and Sharjah Charity International (SCI). They worked in cooperation with other UAE humanitarian organizations. Public support for the event was strong, with many eager to contribute.

Community and Leaders Join Forces

Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, and Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Charity International, were present. Their involvement highlights the leadership’s dedication to the cause. Sheikh Saqr emphasized that humanitarian work is central to the UAE’s values. “Support for these efforts is part of who we are,” he said.

Mariam Al Hammadi, Director General of TBHF, was grateful for the support. “Both public and private sectors have come together for this cause,” she stated. This unity has been a key part of the campaign’s success.

Abdullah bin Khadem, Executive Director of SCI, also praised the diverse involvement. He said the community’s participation shows the deep empathy that exists within Emirati society.

Key Organizations Involved

The “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign, which began on 8th October, saw participation from many charitable organizations. These included the Emirates Red Crescent, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Dubai Cares, and others. Their combined efforts aim to provide critical aid to Lebanon.

This relief campaign has been running for nearly two weeks. Donations and support from volunteers and organizations continue to flow in. It is a powerful example of the UAE’s commitment to helping others in need, both at home and around the world.
