Abu Dhabi: The UAE Special Olympics team made the country proud by winning 15 gold medals at the Youth Muay Thai World Championship held in Abu Dhabi.

The team took part in showcase training competitions created especially for them by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation. These matches followed top international standards and gave the athletes a chance to show their skills and hard work.

The championship is taking place at Space 42 Arena in Abu Dhabi. The finals for the 16–17 age group will be held tomorrow, followed by the award ceremony and crowning of champions.

At the same time, the International Muay Thai Federation held a big meeting in Abu Dhabi. Leaders of the sport discussed new plans to grow Muay Thai around the world. Topics included hosting more international tournaments, training coaches and referees, creating education programs, and expanding the sport across Asia.

The meeting also celebrated Muay Thai’s first appearance in the Asian Youth Games, which will be hosted in Bahrain this coming October.

The UAE team’s success shows how sports can bring confidence, pride, and joy to athletes of all abilities.
