UAE Space Agency builds global partnerships at 41st Space Symposium

ABU DHABI: The UAE Space Agency has completed its participation in the 41st Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, held from April 13 to 16, 2026, as part of its efforts to grow global partnerships and support the UAE National Space Strategy 2031.

The UAE delegation was led by Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency. During the event, the team met with international leaders to discuss the future of the global space sector.

The agency said this participation shows the UAE’s strong commitment to working closely with countries and organisations around the world. The goal is to help the space sector grow, increase economic benefits, and improve the UAE’s global position through international cooperation.

During the symposium, the UAE delegation highlighted major achievements in the country’s space journey. One of the most important updates was the extension of the Emirates Mars Mission, also known as the Hope Probe, until 2028.

The mission has already delivered major scientific results by collecting more than 10 terabytes of open scientific data. This has helped scientists gain the world’s first full picture of the atmosphere of Mars.

The UAE team also shared updates on the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt and other projects aimed at supporting the national space economy. These efforts are helping strengthen the UAE’s place as a leading hub for aerospace innovation and investment.

On the sidelines of the event, the UAE delegation held meetings with major international organisations, including NASA, the Korea AeroSpace Administration, and the French National Centre for Space Studies.

The talks focused on future cooperation in Moon and Mars exploration, support for the Artemis Accords, and the growing role of the private sector in developing advanced space technology.

The agency also joined high-level panel discussions with representatives from Germany and Peru. During these discussions, the UAE highlighted the importance of moving beyond short-term cooperation and building long-term strategic partnerships that support technology growth and develop national talent.

This participation reflects the UAE’s wider vision to play an active role in shaping the future of the global space industry.
