Belém, Brazil: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) again showed its strong commitment to protecting the planet as the COP30 climate conference opened in Belém, Brazil. The UAE reminded the world that countries must work together if we want to keep Earth safe and limit global warming to 1.5°C.

Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, led the UAE team at COP30. The UAE’s message was clear: real climate action happens when governments, communities, and people join hands and trust each other.

The UAE delegation included ministers, senior leaders, climate experts, and negotiators from many national groups. This showed how the UAE works as one team and continues its leadership from COP28 to COP30. The country wants to help the world make good decisions and build a stronger global climate plan.

At COP30, the UAE focused on turning climate promises into real action. The team highlighted three main goals: faster climate finance for countries that need help, more clean energy solutions, and greater support for young people and local communities to join climate work. The UAE also pushed for more nature protection and smarter ways to adapt to climate change.

Building on the important UAE Consensus from COP28, the country wants to make sure climate efforts lead to real results that people can feel in their daily lives.

The UAE is also preparing to co-host the 2026 United Nations Water Conference with Senegal. As part of this effort, the UAE is encouraging the world to treat water as a key part of sustainable development. The country is working with partners, companies, and experts to make sure water, climate, and development are all connected in global planning.

Through its active role at COP30, the UAE continues to show that it is a strong global partner for climate solutions. The country supports fair, inclusive, and smart climate action that helps both people and the planet.

The UAE’s commitment to teamwork and real progress inspires other nations to work together for a safer, greener, and more successful future for everyone.
