The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is likely to give people a longer holiday for Eid Al Fitr in 2026. This special holiday marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a time when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.

According to current predictions, Eid Al Fitr is expected to start on Friday, March 20, 2026. The UAE usually gives official holidays from the first day of Shawwal, the Islamic month that comes after Ramadan.

Most likely, people in the UAE will have a three-day holiday from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22, 2026. This gives a nice long weekend for families to celebrate, pray, and visit each other.

But there is a chance the holiday could become four days long. If Ramadan lasts a full 30 days and the new moon is sighted a day earlier, then the holiday may begin on Thursday, March 19, 2026 and continue through Sunday, March 22.

The exact dates will be confirmed only after the moon is officially sighted by religious authorities in the UAE. This is because Islamic holidays follow the lunar (moon) calendar, so the final decision comes just before the event.

Families across the UAE are already planning their Eid celebrations, trips, and special meals, as the holiday season draws near. Having up to four days off could make this celebration even more joyful.
