Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reviewed the design and master plan for the new Al Jazira Club Stadium in Zayed City.
The new stadium will hold 24,000 spectators, with space to expand to 30,000 in the future. Construction will start in 2026 and finish within three years. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, will supervise the project.
The stadium will feature air-conditioned seats to keep fans cool in all seasons. A retractable pitch will allow the field to slide out of the main arena for maintenance or special events. The design also includes restaurants, lounges, and hospitality areas that visitors can use even when no matches are taking place.
The new Al Jazira Club Stadium will host sports games, celebrations, and community gatherings throughout the year. It aims to become a lively hub for sports fans and families.
This project supports the UAE’s vision to build world-class sports facilities that improve life quality, inspire young people, and encourage innovation. It also strengthens the country’s position as a leader in modern sports infrastructure.
The presentation took place at Qasr Al Bahr. It was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; and other senior officials.
This project highlights the UAE’s ongoing commitment to creating modern, sustainable spaces that inspire athletes and strengthen the nation’s sporting future.
