UAE President Meets OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, welcomed Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting focused on how the UAE and OpenAI can work together in artificial intelligence. Both sides talked about using AI to support research, create new ideas, and build smart solutions that help people and businesses.
The UAE aims to become a world leader in artificial intelligence by building a strong AI system that supports its growth and knowledge-based economy. This vision will open new chances for innovation in both government and private sectors.
Sam Altman praised the UAE’s vision for artificial intelligence and its efforts to partner globally in this fast-growing field.
In recognition of his work, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence gave Sam Altman its first honorary doctorate.
The meeting was also attended by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, and other senior officials.
