UAE Ministry of Health Confirms Limited Cases of Water Contamination After Floods
The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has addressed recent concerns about water contamination following heavy rains and floods. In a statement, MoHAP confirmed a “very limited” number of cases where individuals exhibited symptoms potentially linked to contaminated water. These patients received prompt medical treatment and were discharged safely.
The Ministry urged residents in affected areas to exercise caution and avoid contact with stagnant water sources or floodwater. This includes rainwater and puddles, which can pose health risks like mosquito-borne diseases.
MoHAP emphasized the importance of relying on official information sources for updates and to prevent the spread of rumors, which could have legal repercussions.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is taking swift action to address power and water outages caused by the floods. Specialized teams are working to clean, disinfect, and ensure the quality of water in affected reservoirs.
