UAE medicines supply safe and ready, says Emirates Drug Establishment
Dubai: The UAE has enough medicines and medical supplies to meet the needs of people across the country, according to the Emirates Drug Establishment.
Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and Chairman of the Emirates Drug Establishment, said the UAE’s medicine sector is stable and well prepared. He explained that the country keeps a strategic stock of medicines and medical supplies to make sure people can always get the treatment they need.
He said the government has strong plans and policies to store important medicines in large quantities. This helps ensure that citizens, residents, and visitors can find the medicines they need at any time, even during emergencies.
Al Hajeri added that keeping medicines safe and available is a key national priority. The UAE has a long-term plan to make sure medicines remain available, safe, and of high quality in every situation.
He also said the Emirates Drug Establishment works in a proactive way. The authority studies possible risks and prepares emergency plans in advance. This helps the country stay ready and increases public trust in the UAE’s healthcare system.
Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director-General of the Emirates Drug Establishment, also confirmed that the pharmaceutical sector in the UAE remains stable and ready.
She said the establishment monitors medicines every day and tracks how they move through factories, warehouses, and storage facilities. This is done through integrated systems that work together with government and private sector partners.
Dr. Al Kaabi explained that this monitoring helps make sure essential medicines are always available and prevents shortages of important medical products. She added that medicine supply chains in the UAE are currently operating normally.
She also said the current indicators for medicine availability are stable and reassuring. This is because of strong planning and close cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Prevention, government authorities, and private companies.
Dr. Al Kaabi noted that medicine security is one of the main pillars of healthcare in the UAE. She said the establishment follows a forward-looking strategy to ensure a steady supply of medicines and to keep the health sector ready for any situation.
