UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Shines with Six Medals at Paris Grand Prix 2025

Paris: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team made a strong start at the Grand Prix Paris Open 2025, winning six medals, four gold and two silver on the first day. The event, featuring 400 athletes from 30 countries, ends on Sunday.
Gold medals were won by Shamma Al Kalbani (63kg), Omar Ali Alsuwaidi (56kg), Mayed Al Shehhi (62kg), and Mohammed Al Suwaidi (69kg). Theyab Alnuaimi (56kg) and Khaled Al Shehhi (62kg) took silver.
Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali from the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation praised the team’s hard work and training, calling it a big step towards future events like the West Asia Championship in Jordan, the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, and the World Games 2025 in China.
Coach Helder Medeiros said the event helped athletes gain important experience. Gold medallist Mayed Al Shehhi said he was proud to raise the UAE flag and promised to keep striving for more success. The team hopes to win even more medals on the final day.
