UAE: In a bid to regulate the organization of Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, the UAE has announced stringent rules and hefty fines for violators. Effective immediately, operators are barred from accepting pilgrimage requests without prior approval from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

Approval Required Before Applications

In a move to strengthen oversight and prevent unauthorized activities, the UAE has implemented new regulations for Hajj and Umrah trips. Operators now require official approval before organizing or advertising these pilgrimages. Additionally, the new rules prohibit the collection or acceptance of donations for pilgrimages without a valid license. These measures aim to ensure a more secure and transparent experience for all pilgrims.

Cracking Down on Illegal Practices: Deterrent Fines Introduced

The UAE cracks down on illegal Hajj services with fines up to Dh50,000 for individuals, organizers, and offices. This move aims to eradicate such practices, and licensed operators welcome the stricter penalties as a deterrent.

Kabeer Master, Managing Director of Al Yarmook Hajj, Umrah, and Travel, warns pilgrims about the dangers of illegal entry attempts during Hajj. He emphasizes the importance of using legal channels and the consequences of bypassing regulations.

Beware of Scams in UAE

Residents are cautioned against falling prey to unlicensed operators advertising low-cost Umrah permits on social media platforms. Noushad Hassan, Managing Director of Alhind Business Centre, warned against the risks associated with unauthorized agents and urged individuals to verify the credentials of travel agencies before engaging their services.
