UAE Foreign Minister Speaks With World Leaders on Rising Regional Tensions

ABU DHABI: UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with several world leaders on the phone to discuss recent regional tensions after Iranian missile attacks targeted the UAE and other countries in the region.

The calls focused on the impact of these attacks and the need to protect regional security, global trade, and energy supplies.

Sheikh Abdullah held talks with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Sugiono, Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, South Africa’s Minister of International Relations Ronald Lamola, and Greece’s Defence Minister Nikos Dendias.

During the calls, the leaders discussed the growing tension in the region after the Iranian missile strikes. They warned that such attacks could harm regional stability and also affect international trade, energy security, and the global economy.

The ministers strongly condemned the missile attacks by Iran on the UAE and other nations. They said these actions break international law and go against the United Nations Charter.

The leaders also said that countries targeted by these attacks have the right to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.

Sheikh Abdullah thanked the ministers for their support and solidarity with the UAE. He also reassured them that all residents and visitors in the country remain safe.
