UAE Faces Unstable Weather This Week, NCM Predicts Less Severity Than April
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a forecast for potentially unstable weather conditions across parts of the UAE later this week. However, the NCM assures residents that the upcoming weather is expected to be “less severe” compared to the storms experienced in April.
Less Intense Conditions Expected
According to NCM forecasts, the unsettled weather is anticipated to start Wednesday night in western regions. It will then gradually spread eastward, potentially impacting most areas by Thursday. Temperatures are also expected to drop significantly during this period. The focus of the unstable weather is predicted to be in western, coastal, and some eastern regions of the UAE.
Authorities Prepared for Potential Impacts
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) held a meeting on Tuesday to ensure preparedness for the upcoming weather. The meeting, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, confirmed NCEMA’s readiness to address any potential challenges arising from the unstable conditions.
Dubai Schools Move to Online Learning
In anticipation of the unstable weather, Dubai authorities have announced that all private schools will transition to online learning on Thursday, May 2nd, and Friday, May 3rd. This precautionary measure aims to prioritize student safety during the expected weather event.
