UAE Establishes Task Force to Address Flood Damage, Given One Week to Develop Recovery Strategy
1 min readA committee convened by the UAE Cabinet to evaluate the aftermath of devastating floods held its inaugural session, led by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, tasked with formulating urgent action plans to assess roadways, infrastructure, and dams post the unprecedented storms.
Chaired by Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the meeting saw representatives from federal and local entities gather to outline strategies to evaluate damages and propose effective solutions.
Al Mazrouei emphasized the committee’s objectives, including the rapid assessment of damages and the formulation of resilient solutions to bolster infrastructure against future weather emergencies.
To expedite recovery efforts, four technical committees were established, focusing on roads and infrastructure, housing and properties, dams and water facilities, and energy and water sectors.
Expressing solidarity with affected citizens, Al Mazrouei highlighted ongoing assessments of residential damages and the provision of aid and logistical support to facilitate a swift recovery and alleviate citizen suffering.
