UAE Dominates Jiu-Jitsu Asian Youth Championship with 19 Medals
ABU DHABI: Emirati athletes showcased their prowess at the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Youth Championship, clinching five gold medals and bolstering the UAE’s medal tally to 28. Hosts Secure Five Gold, Two Silver, and 12 Bronze Medals in U-18 Division.
On the tournament’s second day, in the U-18 division, UAE athletes stood out with five golds, two silvers, and 12 bronzes. The ongoing championship, featuring competitions for athletes under 16, 18, and 21, is held at Mubadala Arena until May 8.
Tuesday’s action-packed youth competitions included duo-classic, show, and jiu-jitsu fighting. UAE’s medals came solely in the jiu-jitsu discipline, reflecting the team’s exceptional performance.
Youssef Al-Batran, board member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, praised the athletes’ technical proficiency.
Khalifa Salem Andeez, father of athlete Ahmed Khalifa Andeez, lauded his son’s performance, expressing optimism for future achievements.
Gold medalist Salem Alqubaisi expressed gratitude for the support and vowed to excel further in upcoming championships.
The Jiu-Jitsu Asian Youth Championship serves as a platform for Emirati youth to shine internationally, embodying the nation’s commitment to sporting excellence.
