UAE Cabinet AI Advisor to Boost Speed and Efficiency of Government Decisions

ABU DHABI, September 11, 2026: The UAE’s new Cabinet AI Advisor system is expected to strengthen government decision-making by helping ministers analyse policies faster, assess their wider impact and receive continuously updated recommendations, according to Emirati artificial intelligence experts.
Experts participating in the Artificial Intelligence track of the National Experts Program (NEP-AI) said the system could give government leaders access to a broader evidence base while helping them keep pace with regulatory, economic and technological developments.
They stressed that the UAE Cabinet AI Advisor is designed to support, rather than replace, human judgement and ministerial accountability.
AI to Support Faster Government Decision-Making
The Cabinet AI Advisor could allow government leaders to examine large amounts of information more quickly and understand how proposed decisions may affect several sectors at the same time.
Yaser Alshehhi, an Emirati expert in AI strategy development, said one of the system’s key capabilities is connecting the potential consequences of government decisions across different areas.
A transport policy, for example, could affect economic activity, sustainability, infrastructure and society. Artificial intelligence can help policymakers identify these connections earlier and assess possible consequences before a decision is implemented.
The initiative forms part of the UAE’s wider effort to build advanced national capabilities in artificial intelligence. The country is also investing in developing Emirati expertise in emerging technologies, including through initiatives such as the Space42 Future Spacers Programme for UAE talent in space and AI.
UAE Moves AI Closer to the Policymaking Process
Sultan AlRaeesi, an Emirati expert in AI policy, regulation and diplomacy, said the Cabinet AI Advisor reflects the UAE’s move to expand artificial intelligence beyond digital services and operational applications and bring the technology closer to the policymaking process.
AI could help government leaders analyse proposed policies, compare different regulatory approaches and evaluate the potential impact of new decisions before they are introduced.
However, AlRaeesi said the increasing role of AI in government should be supported by strong governance frameworks covering transparency, validation and accountability.
That focus on maintaining human judgement alongside artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important across the UAE. Education leaders have also highlighted the need for responsible AI use and critical thinking, with UAE Minister of Education Sarah Al Amiri previously stressing the importance of AI literacy and human judgement in preparing the UAE’s next generation.
Agentic AI Could Help Implement Government Decisions
Mohammed Alketbi, an Emirati expert in agentic AI, said the next phase of artificial intelligence in government could extend beyond analysing decisions to helping authorities implement them and monitor their results.
Agentic AI systems can analyse a government objective, divide it into individual tasks, monitor developments and identify situations in which additional action may be needed.
This could help narrow the gap between policy decisions and their intended outcomes while giving government leaders greater visibility into implementation.
Alketbi stressed that such systems would not replace ministerial judgement, responsibility or accountability. Instead, AI could assist throughout the decision cycle, covering analysis, execution, monitoring and adaptation.
Cabinet AI Advisor Includes 32 Specialised AI Advisers
The UAE Cabinet AI Advisor system comprises 32 specialised artificial intelligence advisers designed to analyse government policies, legislation, strategies and systems.
By combining information from different areas, the system is intended to help officials evaluate complex issues more quickly while identifying links that may not be immediately visible through traditional policy analysis.
Emirati experts involved in NEP-AI will also participate in sessions during the programme’s third training module alongside decision-makers and specialists involved in shaping the UAE’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
Participants include Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs and Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council.
UAE Expands Artificial Intelligence Strategy
The Cabinet AI Advisor represents another step in the UAE’s broader effort to integrate artificial intelligence into government, policy development and strategic planning.
Rather than positioning AI as an alternative to government leadership, the system is designed to provide decision-makers with faster analysis, broader perspectives and tools to monitor how policies perform after implementation.
As artificial intelligence becomes more closely integrated into public-sector decision-making, governance, transparency and human oversight are expected to remain central to how these systems are developed and deployed.
