UAE Braces for Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Next Week
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a forecast for heavy rain, thunder, and lightning across parts of the UAE for the upcoming week. Stormy weather is anticipated to hit the country starting Wednesday night and peak on Thursday.
The NCM predicts moderate to heavy rain in scattered areas, accompanied by lightning and thunder. There’s also a possibility of hail, starting in western regions on Wednesday night and moving eastward to cover most of the country by Thursday. Wind speeds are expected to reach 65 kilometers per hour on Thursday.
While rain is expected throughout the week, the worst weather conditions are forecasted for Thursday. Weather app Windy predicts thunder and lightning to hit Abu Dhabi as early as 7:00 am on Thursday, May 2nd. The highest temperature in the capital this week is expected to be 38°C on Tuesday.
Windy forecasts a later arrival of thunder and lightning in Dubai, occurring between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Thursday. It’s important to note that some parts of the UAE already experienced rain on Sunday, with a yellow weather alert issued for areas like Dubai and Fujairah.
