UAE and Indonesia Strengthen Ties to Boost $27bn Trade Relations
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia are seeking to enhance their trade and diplomatic relations, building on 47 years of cooperation. The two nations aim to boost their bilateral trade, which has exceeded $27 billion over the past decade.
President Joko Widodo of Indonesia visited the UAE on Tuesday, July 16, to strengthen the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. The visit marks a significant milestone in their relations, following a 47-year journey of cooperation and friendship.
Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement
The UAE and Indonesia have identified key areas for cooperation, including energy, renewable energy, tourism, aviation, agriculture, food security, infrastructure, transportation, health, artificial intelligence, education, and culture. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) is expected to further enhance trade between the two nations.
With a focus on boosting trade relations, the UAE and Indonesia are poised to strengthen their partnership, with bilateral trade expected to exceed $10 billion within five years.
