Tunisian Leaders Meet Saudi Development Chief to Boost Cooperation

Tunis: Tunisian Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri welcomed Sultan Al-Marshad, head of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), in Tunis today. The meeting was also attended by Tunisia’s Minister of Economy, Samir Abdelhafidh, and the Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqr.

The leaders talked about how to grow the strong friendship between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, especially in building and funding important development projects. The two countries have been working together for over 50 years.

Al-Marshad also met with Tunisia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Mustapha Ferjani, to review SFD-funded health projects and look at ways to improve Tunisia’s healthcare system. During this visit, Saudi Arabia is planning to sign a $38 million development loan with Tunisia to support new infrastructure projects in the country.
