HAIL, July 6, 2025 – The wicker crafting displays at Aja Park’s Hail House event drew large crowds, showcasing this important part of Saudi heritage. Visitors admired the skilled work of artisans keeping the traditional “Al-Khoos” craft alive.
Using dried palm fronds, craftsmen create useful items like baskets, mats, and brooms. The process involves soaking, weaving, and carefully shaping the palm leaves before turning them into colorful household products.
These handmade wicker goods remain popular today, with many Hail residents still using them daily. The festival highlights how traditional crafts connect modern Saudis to their cultural roots.
