Stockholm Hearts Crowned Champions of Longines Global Champions Tour in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Stockholm Hearts emerged victorious at the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour “Riyadh Final” held at the state-of-the-art grounds near the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). The championship, which concluded yesterday, showcased exceptional equestrian talent from around the world.

Top Officials Celebrate Victory

The champions were honored by Vice Minister of Sports Bader AlKadi and Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, President of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation (SAEF), in a grand closing ceremony.

The Stockholm Hearts secured the top spot, followed by the Shanghai Swans in second place and Riesenbeck International in third.

A Thrilling Global Journey Ends in Riyadh

This event marked the end of the 2024 Longines Global Champions Tour season, which began in Doha last March. Over the months, the tour stopped in iconic cities like Miami, Shanghai, Paris, London, and Rabat before arriving in Riyadh.

The final stage offered a generous prize pool of SAR 43.4 million, attracting 132 elite riders and 191 horses from 30 countries, making it one of the most competitive equestrian events of the year.

Spotlight on Saudi Riders

The “Riyadh Final” also included a two-star affiliated competition featuring 58 Saudi riders and 75 horses. This segment allowed local talent to gain valuable experience competing alongside international equestrian stars.

The event not only celebrated the excellence of global equestrian sports but also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s growing prominence as a premier destination for world-class sporting events.
