STC Group Uses AI to Improve Internet Services During Hajj 2025

Makkah: STC Group has successfully used artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to improve mobile and internet services during the Hajj 2025 season. With millions of pilgrims visiting Makkah for Hajj, the company faced a major challenge to keep its communication network running smoothly.

To meet this challenge, STC deployed advanced AI systems to monitor the network in real time. These systems helped detect and fix service issues quickly often before users noticed anything. One of the main tools used was a self-healing network system, which automatically finds and solves network problems without human help.

The AI system also made more than 10,000 automatic adjustments every hour to balance the load and improve coverage. These changes resulted in:

• A 10% increase in data speeds during peak times
• A 20% to 30% improvement in average data speeds

STC analyzed data from previous Hajj seasons to predict and prevent common network issues. This allowed their technical teams to prepare in advance and reduce service disruptions.

The use of AI during Hajj helped ensure strong and reliable digital connectivity for millions of pilgrims, allowing them to stay in touch with loved ones, access important information, and share their Hajj experience online.
