Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre welcomes over 3.2 million guests during Ramadan and Eid
Abu Dhabi: The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre welcomed more than 3.2 million guests during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.
The centre recorded a total of 3,226,103 guests across its mosques in the UAE. Worshippers, visitors, and families gathered daily for prayers and iftar meals.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi received the highest number of guests, reaching 1,695,698 people. More than 510,000 worshippers prayed at the mosque, while over 980,000 guests joined the iftar meals. This marked the largest number of iftar meals ever served there.
In Al Ain, Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque welcomed 960,011 guests. Over 409,000 people attended prayers, and more than 550,000 guests came for iftar.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah hosted 507,222 guests. The mosque received over 231,000 worshippers and more than 265,000 iftar guests.
Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah recorded 63,172 worshippers during the same period.
Dr. Yousef Al Obaidli, Director-General of the centre, said the Ramadan project shows strong teamwork and care for the community. He explained that the centre works to spread kindness, respect, and peaceful living among people.
He added that the centre continues to improve its services to ensure guests feel safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilled. He also praised the volunteers and staff for their dedication and teamwork.
Throughout Ramadan, a group of well-known imams led Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers, creating a calm and spiritual environment for worshippers.
Under the “Our Fasting Guests” program, the centre shared more than 2.6 million iftar meals across its mosques. The program honors the memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed.
The centre also introduced more than 10 initiatives during Ramadan. These included digital platforms and educational programs that shared religious and cultural knowledge in simple ways.
In addition, the centre organized lectures after Taraweeh prayers in cooperation with Islamic authorities. On Zayed Humanitarian Day, teams distributed audio Qurans to worshippers.
Visitors enjoyed many Ramadan activities, including a photography competition titled “Ramadan at the Mosque” and the Jusoor program, which brought together participants from different countries.
Guests also explored Ramadan markets and cultural spaces such as Souq Al Jami’ and special stalls set up in the mosque courtyards.
During the holy month, the centre produced more than 130 media items. Media outlets from around the world covered its activities, creating over 1,900 news reports and social media posts.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre remains a leading place for worship, culture, and community, welcoming millions of people each year.
