Sheikh Nahyan Opens 31st Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival

Abu Dhabi: The 31st Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival has officially started. The big opening was led by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.
The event is held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.
At the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan made the first chess move using artificial intelligence (AI). He was joined by Tarim Matar Muhammad Tarim, President of the UAE Chess Federation, and Hussein Abdullah Al Khouri, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chess and Mind Games Club.
During the opening, Sheikh Nahyan toured the festival grounds and looked at the different competitions. Players from many countries around the world are taking part, creating a fun and competitive atmosphere.
The Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival is one of the biggest chess events in the region. It brings together professional and young players, celebrates smart thinking, and shows the UAE’s support for mind games and cultural events.
