His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, met with business leaders, investors, and local dignitaries at his weekly Majlis in Za’abeel Palace. The meeting focused on Dubai’s plans for economic growth and its role as a global business center.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed Dubai’s forward-thinking strategy. He emphasized the city’s commitment to economic growth, innovation, and global collaboration. He noted that Dubai is ready to seize new opportunities during rapid global changes and highlighted the UAE’s influence worldwide. Under Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s leadership, the UAE aims to improve humanity’s well-being through strategic initiatives.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of public-private sector partnerships in driving sustainable development. Strategic Discussions with HSBC
During the Majlis, Sheikh Mohammed met with Sir Mark Tucker of HSBC Holdings, one of the world’s largest financial institutions. The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration and HSBC’s expansion plans in the region. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Dubai’s commitment to strengthening ties with leading global financial institutions. Dubai offers world-class infrastructure and adaptive legislation, allowing companies like HSBC to thrive.
HSBC has been operating in the UAE for over 76 years, employing nearly 600 Emiratis. With a net profit of $1 billion in 2023, HSBC’s success underscores the deep integration of foreign businesses in the UAE’s economy.
Celebrating the UAE’s Space Ambitions
Sheikh Mohammed attended a lecture by Emirati astronaut Mohammed Al Mulla called “From the Desert to Space.” The lecture showcased the UAE’s achievements in space exploration, which began with the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Al Mulla discussed the UAE’s journey to Mars and how it fulfills Sheikh Zayed’s ambition to make the UAE a leader in space exploration.
Sheikh Mohammed concluded the Majlis by receiving the book “Seventy Years with Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid: A Biography” as a gift. The book honors the legacy of the UAE’s founding leaders.
