Sharjah: Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi opened the seventh Jewels of Emirates Show on Wednesday in Sharjah. The event is one of the region’s leading exhibitions for gold, jewellery, diamonds, and pearls. It attracts designers, brands, and visitors from many countries.

After the opening, Sheikh Khaled toured the exhibition halls. He viewed new jewellery designs made of gold and diamonds. He also saw luxury collections from local and international brands.

Sheikh Khaled met Emirati designers taking part in the Emirati Goldsmiths platform. They explained how their designs combine modern styles with traditional Emirati skills. He also visited the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition pavilion. The pavilion highlights the UAE’s long history in pearl diving and pearl trade. It displays rare natural pearls from Sharjah and jewellery made from Emirati pearls.

Several officials joined Sheikh Khaled during the tour. They included Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expo Centre Sharjah. Other officials and representatives from government bodies and companies were also present.

Sheikh Khaled said the Jewels of Emirates Show shows Sharjah’s growing role in the gold and jewellery industry. He said the emirate offers strong support for creativity and new businesses. He added that such exhibitions help attract global brands. They also give Emirati designers a chance to reach international markets.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais said the exhibition strengthens Sharjah’s position as a regional jewellery hub. He said the Chamber supports projects linked to the event. He highlighted the importance of the Emirati Goldsmiths platform. He said it helps local designers grow and connect with global buyers. He also said the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition plays a key role. It helps protect the UAE’s sea heritage and supports the pearl industry.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said the UAE is seeing strong growth in the jewellery sector. He said young people are looking for creative and unique designs. He added that the Jewels of Emirates Show supports local designers and helps the industry expand.

The exhibition covers 12,000 square metres. It features gold, diamonds, pearls, gemstones, and luxury watches. Exhibitors come from the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. National pavilions display jewellery from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Italy, Russia, Türkiye, Singapore, Thailand, India, and Pakistan.

Emirati designers have a special pavilion at the show. It highlights their gold pieces and luxury jewellery designs.

The event also hosts the second Sharjah Pearls Exhibition. It is organised with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Suwaidi Pearls. The Gemological Institute of America is a strategic partner. The exhibition aims to revive the UAE’s sea heritage. It also highlights the beauty and value of natural pearls.

This year, the show introduces the Luxury Pavilion for the first time. The pavilion features high-end jewellery brands and custom designs. The exhibition also includes workshops, cultural evenings, traditional majlis areas, competitions, and prizes. Visitors can enjoy learning, culture, and entertainment throughout the event.
