DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved a new set of artificial intelligence initiatives designed to speed up Dubai’s digital transformation and reinforce its global position as a leader in technology and innovation.

Sheikh Hamdan announced the initiatives during the second 2025 meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy. He approved three major projects the AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform, the Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce, and the Unicorn 30 Programme. These efforts aim to expand the use of AI across government departments and boost innovation in key economic sectors.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that Dubai aims to become the fastest and smartest city in the world to embrace AI and future technologies. Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate continues to build a strong, knowledge-based digital economy. He said Dubai’s success depends on teamwork, collaboration, and the exchange of data among all government entities to meet the targets of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).

The AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform will give government departments a secure and easy-to-use digital space to develop and apply AI technologies. It will help deliver better services, reduce costs, and improve cybersecurity. Instead of waiting for changes, Dubai’s government will now lead in applying AI solutions that increase efficiency and reliability.

The Unicorn 30 Programme, launched by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, aims to help 30 promising startups grow into billion-dollar global companies. The programme includes support in funding, regulation, and global expansion. It operates under Dubai Founders HQ, which connects local and international entrepreneurs to strengthen Dubai’s startup ecosystem.

Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed updates on the Dubai PropTech Hub, launched to attract 200 property technology companies and create more than 3,000 jobs by 2030. The project supports Dubai’s innovation-driven economy and advances the city’s smart development goals.

The meeting brought together Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, along with other top government and industry officials who are driving Dubai’s digital future.
