The Emirate of Sharjah is showcasing its top tourist attractions at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s largest travel trade events. Represented by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), along with a delegation of 19 public and private sector organizations, Sharjah aims to strengthen its position on the global tourism map.

Sharjah’s Diverse Tourism Offerings at ITB Berlin

Held from March 4 to 6 at the Berlin Exhibition Centre, ITB Berlin 2025 features the theme “The World of Travel Lives Here.” Sharjah’s pavilion offers visitors an interactive experience that highlights the emirate’s natural, cultural, and recreational destinations. These include desert landscapes, mountains, coastal areas, heritage sites, and modern landmarks.

Promoting Sharjah’s Rich Culture and Tourism Potential

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, emphasized the importance of the exhibition in promoting Sharjah’s diverse attractions. He also stressed the strong historical ties between Sharjah and Europe, especially Germany, positioning the emirate as an ideal destination for German and European tourists seeking unique cultural experiences.

Delegation Highlights Sustainable Tourism Efforts

Sharjah’s delegation at ITB Berlin includes representatives from government entities such as the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Sharjah International Airport Authority, and Sharjah Museums Authority. Private sector participants, such as Air Arabia and Sharjah National Hotels, are also present. This collaboration reflects Sharjah’s commitment to growing its tourism and travel sectors.

At the event, the Sharjah delegation is also showcasing the emirate’s efforts in sustainable tourism, ecotourism, adventure tourism, and cultural tourism. These initiatives have helped establish Sharjah as a regional leader in tourism. The pavilion also highlights projects aimed at preserving the emirate’s cultural and environmental heritage while offering world-class experiences to visitors.

Sharjah’s Growing Appeal to European Tourists

Sharjah’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025 offers a great opportunity to attract more visitors from Europe and beyond. The number of German visitors to Sharjah has been rising steadily, with 13,000 German hotel guests in 2023 and an expected increase to 14,000 in 2024. Additionally, the emirate saw a 16% increase in European tourists in 2024, showing Sharjah’s growing popularity among international travelers.
