Sharjah, December 31, 2024: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved an increase in pensions for retirees who currently receive a percentage-based retirement pension.

Starting from December 1, 2024, the minimum retirement pension will be raised to AED 17,500. This initiative aims to ensure that retirees and their families can enjoy a comfortable and dignified life.

The adjustment will apply retroactively from the date of retirement, with a total financial cost of AED 4 million. An annual amount of AED 1.3 million has been allocated to supplement pensions to meet the new minimum threshold.

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, shared the announcement during a phone call on the “Direct Line” program broadcast by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.

This step reflects the Ruler of Sharjah’s commitment to improving the quality of life for all retirees in the emirate.
