Sharjah, November 13, 2024 – The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently hosted the UAE-Thailand Business Forum, welcoming a high-profile Thai business delegation to explore new investment opportunities and strategic partnerships. This event was designed to bring together business leaders from both countries to discuss collaboration across different economic sectors.

Key Highlights from the UAE-Thailand Business Forum

The Thai delegation included leaders from major companies specializing in food manufacturing, logistics, import and export, construction materials, and furniture. Held at SCCI’s headquarters, the forum provided one-on-one meeting opportunities for Emirati and Thai businesses, aiming to increase investment in both markets.

Fatema Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of the International Relations Department at SCCI, highlighted Sharjah’s position as a key regional hub for trade and investment. With strong infrastructure and a business-friendly environment, Sharjah continues to attract investors globally.

Dr. Visit Limlurcha, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, led the Thai delegation. He noted that Sharjah offers excellent business incentives and has a favorable environment for foreign investment, making it a strategic choice for Thai companies wanting to expand in the Middle East.

Forum Goals and Future Partnership Potential

Al Muqarrab shared that the UAE-Thailand Business Forum aims to deepen economic ties between the two countries. Since discussions began last year to establish a comprehensive economic partnership, non-oil trade between the UAE and Thailand has grown significantly. In 2022, trade between the two countries increased by 21%, reaching $6.1 billion. This impressive growth reflects a mutual commitment to building strong economic partnerships.

Thailand considers the UAE, especially Sharjah, as an essential investment destination. Dr. Limlurcha emphasized the eagerness of Thai companies to enter and expand in the UAE market. Sharjah’s business advantages, along with its advanced infrastructure and investor support, make it a prime choice for Thai companies looking to invest in the region.

Sharjah Chamber’s Role in Supporting Global Business

The forum included a presentation on the diverse services offered by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce. Attendees viewed a video detailing the Chamber’s role in supporting companies across various sectors through global best practices. This helps establish Sharjah as a key platform for attracting international investments and fostering new economic projects.

The UAE-Thailand Business Forum represents a significant step forward in enhancing trade and economic cooperation. Both countries are committed to creating sustainable partnerships that will benefit their economic goals and strengthen ties across diverse sectors.
