Sharjah beats Al Wasl in big Emirati match at AWST 2026 volleyball championship

Sharjah: Sharjah Women’s Sports Club won an important match against Al Wasl in the Arab Women Sports Tournament 2026 volleyball championship. The home team played with confidence. As a result, they secured a straight-sets victory and pleased their fans.

First, the match brought strong action because both teams are from the UAE. Therefore, the game was fast and exciting from the start. Sharjah controlled the play and made fewer mistakes. In the end, that made the difference.

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club won 3–0. The set scores were 25–21, 25–16, and 25–19. Moreover, this is their second win in the tournament. Earlier, they also defeated Taldara Club on opening day. Because of these two wins, Sharjah now sits at the top of the standings.

At the same time, Kuwait’s Al Fatat also has six points from two matches. So, the fight for first place is getting tighter with each round.

Meanwhile, Akkad Ankawa Club earned their first win of the tournament. At first, they lost the opening set against Lebanese Club Jeunesse Bauchrieh. However, they came back stronger in the next sets. Then they won the match 3–1 with scores of 18–25, 25–19, 25–21, and 25–13. Unfortunately, the Lebanese team has now lost two matches in a row.

In another match, Kuwait’s Al Fatat continued their good form. They beat Syria’s Taldara Club in straight sets. The scores were 25–12, 25–15, and 25–18. After this result, Al Fatat remains unbeaten. On the other hand, Taldara Club is still without a win.

Overall, the AWST 2026 volleyball championship is becoming more competitive. As the matches continue, more teams are pushing hard to reach the final stage.
