Sharjah: Sharjah and Mexico marked 50 years of diplomatic relations by hosting the Sharjah-Mexico Business Roundtable at the House of Wisdom. The event, organized by Invest in Sharjah and the Mexican Business Council, focused on new opportunities in car manufacturing, real estate, shipping, and small business support.

Leaders like Luis Alfonso de Alba, Mexico’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Mohamed Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, said both sides are committed to innovation and stronger partnerships.

Sharjah is already home to over 45 Mexican companies and imported 7 million dirhams of goods from Mexico in 2024. Trade between the UAE and Mexico doubled in recent years, reaching 2.5 billion dollars in 2023.

Speakers highlighted Sharjah’s benefits, such as full foreign property ownership, fast business setup (as quick as 5 minutes), and strong trade zones like Hamriyah Free Zone. Sharjah’s real estate sector also saw a 31.9% rise in value.

Mexican business leaders praised the UAE’s clean energy projects, fast shipping routes, and partnerships in food and farming. The meeting ended with strong hopes for more trade, teamwork, and growth between Sharjah and Mexico.
