Saudi Women Lead the Charge for Empowerment at London Event
Saudi Arabia: A powerful gathering of Saudi women shared their experiences as leaders at an empowering event held at the Saudi Embassy in London on Thursday. Hosted by Johara Global, a female advocacy group, the event showcased the changing narrative of Saudi women in leadership across the Kingdom and the Middle East.
Breaking Barriers and Redefining Inclusion
Raha Moharrak, the first Saudi woman to conquer Mount Everest, Sawsan Al-Bahiti, the country’s first female soprano, and Nawal Al-Khalawi, a renowned culinary artist, all spoke at the event. They discussed the challenges they faced as women and how they overcame them. Their journeys redefine female inclusion in a Saudi Arabia undergoing significant reforms outlined in Vision 2030.
Reema Juffali, a pioneering Saudi racing driver recognized by the BBC among the world’s most influential women, also joined the discussion.
Collaboration for Progress
Saudi Ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar, opened the event. He acknowledged the Saudi women in leadership achievements and emphasized the importance of cross-cultural understanding.
Katie Partridge, Johara Global’s chairwoman, stressed how men can contribute to women’s empowerment. “We support the evolution of women’s leadership through a unified platform,” she said. “We also recognize the positive role men play alongside women for societal progress.”
Intisar Al-Yamani, the organization’s CEO, further emphasized their mission. “Johara Global is unique,” she stated. “We provide an exclusive platform for inspiring women to empower others and give back to society. Learning is the key to success.”
The event highlighted the growing strength and influence of Saudi women in leadership. Through their stories and passion, they are paving the way for a more inclusive and empowered future for women in the Kingdom and beyond.
