Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship Brings Close Racing to Taif

Taif, Saudi Arabia: The second round of the 2026 Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship began at Al-Muhammadiyah Hill in Al-Shafa, Taif, with drivers recording very close race times.

The motorsport event started with official practice sessions and the first race. It is supervised by the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and Bakhshab Motorsports, in partnership with Jameel Motorsport.

A total of 54 male and female drivers registered for the second round. Of these, 46 passed the required technical checks before taking part in the competition. Drivers are competing across 10 racing categories. The event also includes a special Women’s Cup for female competitors.

Before racing began, officials checked the drivers’ documents and inspected their cars to make sure they met safety and competition rules. The drivers also attended a meeting where organizers explained the race rules, safety instructions, and event schedule. The official practice sessions took place on Al-Muhammadiyah Hill, where the top drivers recorded very similar times.

Faisal Sufyan Al-Qabbani finished with the fastest practice time of 1 minute and 47.832 seconds. Rabee Al-Awar came second with a time of 1 minute and 48.544 seconds. Mahmoud Ahmed Abed finished third after recording a time of 1 minute and 51.907 seconds.

The first race was held on Friday evening. Competition was scheduled to continue on Saturday morning with the second race, followed by the third and fourth deciding races.

The final results will be based on each driver’s best time from the two deciding races. Winners from the different racing categories will be honored during an awards ceremony at the end of the event.

The Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship is helping to grow motorsport in Saudi Arabia while giving male and female drivers a chance to compete in professional racing events.
