Saudi Fund for Development Supports Tajikistan with $30 Million

KULOB: The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has signed a $30 million agreement to build a ring road in Kulob, Tajikistan, marking another step in their 20-year partnership.

The project will create a new road with two bridges to improve traffic flow, safety, and regional trade links. The road will connect Central Asia with China and Indian Ocean nations, helping goods move faster and boosting Tajikistan’s economy.

SFD CEO Sultan Al-Marshad and Tajik Finance Minister Qahhorzoda Faiziddin Sattor signed the deal, with Saudi Ambassador Walid Al-Rashidan attending. The SFD team also launched construction on a new secondary school in Danghara district.

This is part of a $20 million education project to build 11 schools for over 7,000 students. The SFD has already helped build 57 schools in Tajikistan in past projects worth $75 million. These efforts show Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Tajikistan’s infrastructure and education growth.
