Saudi Female Falconers Shine at King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2024

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2024, hosted by the Saudi Falconry Club in Malham, north of Riyadh, has become a stage for Saudi female falconers to showcase their skills and passion for the traditional sport. Running until December 19, the festival is the largest of its kind globally and features record-breaking prizes exceeding SAR 36 million.

The event has made history by dedicating a special competition round exclusively for women, a significant milestone that has been warmly welcomed by participants. This inclusion reflects a broader commitment to promoting diversity within Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage.

Female Falconers Embrace Opportunity

Huda Al-Mutairi, one of the participants, expressed her pride in competing at the festival. As the first Saudi female falconer with a disability, Al-Mutairi has previously secured first-place wins in similar competitions.
