Saudi Electricity Company to Lead Arab Union of Electricity

Riyadh, February 13, 2025 – The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has been elected as the chairman of the Arab Union of Electricity (AUE) for 2025-2027. The decision was made during a board meeting held in Riyadh on Thursday. SEC will be represented by Acting CEO Eng. Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghamdi.
New Leadership for the Arab Union of Electricity
The 22nd Ordinary General Assembly of the AUE, which includes around 33 members from various Arab electricity authorities, institutions, and companies, also convened during the meeting. The assembly elected a new Board of Directors, with representatives from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Jordan, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Tunisia, Sudan, and Algeria.
Strengthening Arab Energy Cooperation
The Arab Union of Electricity aims to enhance cooperation among Arab countries in the electricity sector, improve energy efficiency, and promote sustainable power generation. With Saudi Electricity Company leading the board, the region is expected to witness stronger partnerships and advancements in the energy sector.
