Riyadh Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host the prestigious Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) in 2025, showcasing the Kingdom’s growing prominence in the scientific and educational arena.
A Step Forward in Science and Education
This comes after Saudi Arabia officially received the APhO flag from Malaysia, which hosted the 2024 competition. This signifies a significant step forward for the Kingdom, reflecting international recognition of its scientific and educational achievements.
Dr. Amal bint Abdullah Al-Hazza, Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), emphasized the importance of hosting such events. Dr. Al-Hazza sees it as an opportunity to nurture young minds and contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification and scientific advancement.

Organizers, including Mawhiba, the Ministry of Education, and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, view this event as a platform to foster international collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of physics.
Dr. Al-Hazza highlighted the APhO’s potential to create enriching educational experiences for students. The event promises to promote communication and cooperation between young minds across Asia, contributing to a more knowledgeable and innovative future generation.
