Saudi Arabia Strengthens AI Partnerships in Silicon Valley

CALIFORNIA, Sept. 9, 2026: Saudi Arabia is seeking stronger global partnerships in artificial intelligence, advanced computing and deep technology as Communications and Information Technology Minister Abdullah Alswaha held a series of meetings with major technology investors in Silicon Valley.
The meetings took place during the first day of Alswaha’s visit to California. Talks focused on increasing investment in Saudi Arabia’s AI sector, expanding computing capabilities and helping Saudi startups reach international markets.
Saudi Arabia Seeks More AI Investment
Alswaha met Ben Horowitz, co-founder and general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, to discuss opportunities for the venture capital firm to increase its investments in Saudi Arabia and Saudi startups.
The discussions also covered connecting companies backed by Andreessen Horowitz with the computing capabilities of HUMAIN. This could help international technology companies expand in Saudi Arabia and the wider region while giving Saudi companies better access to global markets.
The talks come as Saudi Arabia attracts major technology and AI investment as part of its growing digital economy.
Talks With Sequoia Capital
Alswaha also met Alfred Lin, partner at Sequoia Capital, to discuss increasing the firm’s investments in Saudi artificial intelligence and deep-tech companies.
The meeting focused on connecting Sequoia-backed companies with HUMAIN’s computing capabilities and supporting Saudi technology companies that want to expand internationally.
Saudi Arabia has been increasing its focus on practical uses of artificial intelligence, with AI being used across several important sectors in the Kingdom.
AI Could Speed Up Semiconductor Design
In another meeting, Alswaha held talks with Dr. Suk Hwan Lim, CEO and co-founder of TenX Semi, about using AI agents in semiconductor design and verification.
The discussions covered how artificial intelligence can help speed up chip development, improve testing and support autonomous semiconductor design.
The cooperation could also help Saudi Arabia develop stronger local capabilities in advanced chip and semiconductor design, an important area for future digital and AI technologies.
Supporting Saudi Startups and Digital Growth
The Silicon Valley meetings are part of Saudi Arabia’s wider efforts to attract high-value technology investment and build stronger partnerships with leading global companies.
The Kingdom also aims to give Saudi startups more opportunities to grow internationally while strengthening its artificial intelligence, advanced computing and deep-tech sectors.
These partnerships are expected to support Saudi Arabia’s digital economy and strengthen the Kingdom’s position in the global technology industry.
