Riyadh: The Saudi Space Agency has announced something big and exciting: two new Saudi satellites have been launched into space. What makes this even more special is that these satellites were designed and built by students from Umm Al-Qura University and Prince Sultan University. Their projects were chosen as winners in the “SARI” competition, a national challenge for creating small satellites.
The satellites were sent into space as part of an international mission. This success shows how Saudi Arabia is working hard to support young talent and build a strong future in space science and technology.
The SARI competition was a huge event with 42 universities taking part. More than 480 student teams worked to design small satellites that met strict scientific and engineering rules. The goal of the competition is to help students learn real skills in building and using satellites. It also helps them grow in science, technology, engineering, and math so they can become future leaders in the Kingdom’s space programs.
These student projects will help improve how Saudi Arabia uses space technology for science, development, and new ideas.
