Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Strengthen Ties Through Coordination Council Meeting

Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait met in Riyadh on Monday for the second meeting of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council. The gathering focused on deepening cooperation between the two nations.

Both sides emphasized the importance of political cooperation and joint efforts on regional and international issues. They highlighted the need to combat terrorism and share expertise to ensure security for their countries and the wider region.

Economic and Social Collaboration of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait

The ministers praised existing economic ties, including investment flows and trade. They also acknowledged ongoing development in energy, communications, infrastructure, and tourism.

Discussions included developing a shared vision for cultural cooperation. This collaboration will encompass media, tourism, social development, and educational programs.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint cooperation program between diplomatic institutes and two memorandums of understanding (MOUs). The MOUs focus on mutual recognition of seafarer certificates and environmental protection.

Looking Ahead

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, expressed his hope to host the next Coordination Council meeting in the Kingdom next year. This sentiment reflects the commitment to ongoing collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
