Saudi Aerospace Connect Forum Concludes with Key Deals and Industry Announcements

Strategic Agreements Strengthen Saudi Arabia’s Aviation Sector

Jeddah, February 26, 2025 – The Saudi Aerospace Connect Forum wrapped up successfully on Tuesday, marking a major step in the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance its aviation industry. Held under the patronage of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, the event gathered top officials, including General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej and Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Eng. Khalil bin Salamah.

Key Announcements and Agreements

The forum, organized by the National Industrial Development Center (NIDC) in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, GACA, and Saudia Group, took place on February 24-25 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah.

During the event, nine strategic memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed with leading global aviation companies. These agreements are set to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position in the global aerospace sector and attract international partnerships.

Launch of Aviation Industries Cluster

A major announcement was the launch of the Aviation Industries Cluster at Modon Oasis in Jeddah. This initiative aims to localize advanced aerospace technologies and develop a strong aviation supply chain within the Kingdom.

Additionally, new licenses for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities were issued. This will help meet growing market demands both locally and internationally, further enhancing Saudi Arabia’s aviation infrastructure.

Investment Opportunities in Aerospace

The forum featured panel discussions and presentations showcasing investment prospects in Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector. Key focus areas included:

  • Advanced aircraft component manufacturing
  • Composite materials for aircraft structures
  • Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) development and production
  • Titanium and advanced materials manufacturing

These developments are expected to boost national security, create high-quality jobs for Saudi citizens, and strengthen the Kingdom’s global economic presence.

Vision 2030 and the Future of Saudi Aviation

At the forum’s conclusion, officials reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering innovation, supporting investments, and building a sustainable aviation industry. These efforts align with the Saudi Vision 2030, ensuring the Kingdom remains a leader in the global aerospace sector.
