Saif bin Zayed Attends Closing Ceremony of Arabian Gulf Security 4 Exercise in Qatar
Doha: Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended the closing ceremony of the Arabian Gulf Security 4 joint security exercise held in Qatar.
Interior ministers from Gulf Cooperation Council countries were present at the event. Security forces from the UAE and other Gulf states took part in the exercise, along with a special team from the United States.
Arabian Gulf Security 4 is the fourth joint Gulf security drill. Earlier exercises were hosted by Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. This latest exercise started on January 25, 2026, and continued for 11 days.
At the closing ceremony, officials watched a visual show explaining the main training scenarios. Security teams also performed a live field demonstration. The display showed how fast and accurately the forces can respond to possible security threats.
The final drill included mock counter-terrorism operations, protection of important facilities, and crisis management situations. Units showed quick response times and strong teamwork between different divisions. The participating forces also held a parade at the end of the event.
Sheikh Saif bin Zayed met with the Emirati team and praised the performance of all Gulf security forces. He said the exercises showed a high level of training and readiness. He added that Gulf security agencies are well prepared to handle different types of security challenges and wished them success in their joint goals.
Sheikh Saif arrived earlier in Doha and was welcomed by Qatar’s Interior Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, and other senior officials.
During the 11-day Arabian Gulf Security 4 exercise, teams carried out more than 70 field security scenarios and completed over 260 hours of training. The goal was to improve cooperation, coordination, and rapid response among Gulf security agencies.
Ground, air, and special forces units worked together during the drills, showing strong skills, speed, and professional performance. The exercise aims to strengthen Gulf security cooperation and readiness for future risks.
