Strengthening Economic Ties Between Ras Al Khaimah and Michigan

RAS AL KHAIMAH: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, welcomed Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and her delegation to Ras Al Khaimah. Their discussions focused on enhancing economic and commercial cooperation between the two regions.

Strategic Partnership for Innovation and Growth

Following their meeting, Sheikh Saud and Governor Whitmer witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ras Al Khaimah Startup and Entrepreneurship Hub, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and the University of Michigan. This agreement aims to boost collaboration in key sectors such as technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and education.

Promoting Business and Knowledge Exchange

The signing ceremony was attended by Robert Raines, US Consul-General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The MoU emphasizes the commitment of all parties to fostering economic growth through strategic partnerships, sharing knowledge and best practices, and supporting entrepreneurs in both Michigan and Ras Al Khaimah.

Michigan Governor Praises RAK’s Business Ecosystem

Governor Whitmer expressed her appreciation for the warm hospitality of H.H. Sheikh Saud and praised Ras Al Khaimah’s growing reputation as a global hub for business, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She also acknowledged the emirate’s successful partnerships with leading American companies and business leaders.
