RAK Ruler Attends Screening of Spanish Documentary ‘Builders of the Alhambra’

Ras Al Khaimah: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended a special screening of the Spanish documentary “Builders of the Alhambra” at the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce theatre.
The event was also attended by Emilio Pin Godos, Ambassador of Spain to the UAE, and Francisco J. Chacón Hernández, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the UAE, along with senior officials, dignitaries, and members of the community.
Sheikh Saud said that art and architecture show the creativity and identity of people, helping them build a better future while keeping the history and values of past generations alive. He added that the long connection between the East and the West has helped people understand each other better and strengthened respect and cultural openness among nations.
He also noted that when determination meets knowledge and artistic vision, great things can be achieved works that reflect creativity and help bring cultures closer together.
After the film, Sheikh Saud toured a photo exhibition that showcased Andalusian architecture and important landmarks from that historical time.
The documentary, produced in 2022, tells the story of how the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, was built in the 14th century, showing the strong link between art, architecture, and culture in Islamic Spain.
