Prof. Khattak is Director of Science & Technology at Quaid-i-Azam University and Director of ICESCO Chair for Big Data Analytics and Edge Computing. He serves as Chairperson of the UNESCO National IFAP Committee, guiding Pakistan’s digital knowledge and information accessibility policies. He is also Member of the NADRA Authority Board, Member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), Adjunct Professor at Uşak University, Turkey, and an active contributor to the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee for the IT Center of Excellence.
His leadership roles further extend to the Senate of Mirpur University of Science & Technology, the National Computing Education Accreditation Council, and the Higher Education Commission’s Quality Assurance Division.
With 5,900+ Google Scholar citations and an h-index of 43, Prof. Khattak’s research covers cybersecurity, AI, big data, and computing education. His innovations include a patented vibration therapy device (Industrial Design registered with the Pakistan IPO). As a Senior Member of IEEE and PAS, he combines academic depth with practical technological solutions.
Prof. Khattak’s collaborations span leading institutions worldwide. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) and has signed an MoU with UMKC covering NUST, QAU, LUMS, IIUI, GIKI, MUST, HITEC, AWKUM, and PU. Under this MoU, more than 65 students have completed their studies at UMKC, with a few currently enrolled.
