Prince Fahad bin Jalawi Attends Opening Ceremony of the Youth Pan-American Games in Paraguay

Asunción: The Deputy Head of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, took part in the inaugural event of the 2025 Youth Pan-American Games (ASU2025), hosted in the Paraguayan capital. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios. Running until August 17, ASU2025 showcases more than 4,200 young competitors representing 41 countries, competing in 28 sports across 302 categories. This event stands as one of the most prominent athletic assemblies across the Americas, aimed at nurturing emerging talent and enhancing cultural and sports connections among the nations involved.

During his stay in Paraguay, Prince Fahad bin Jalawi engaged in fruitful discussions with Neven Ilic, President of Panam Sports, and Camilo Pérez López Moreira, head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee. The talks focused on ways to strengthen the partnership between the SOPC and Paraguayan sports institutions, with an emphasis on creating more opportunities for joint initiatives, exchange of expertise, and collective growth in numerous sporting disciplines.
